The history of Domeniile Panciu begins in 2006 when Daniel Guzu, the owner of the business, chooses on rediscovering and passing on the wine tradition of Panciu vineyard. The winery holds over 120 hectares at Tifesti, in Panciu vineyard, and is home to both French variety grapes such as Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, Aligote, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon and also to renown Romanian varieties such as Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Regala, Sarba, Babeasca Neagra and Feteasca Neagra.
The portfolio of Domeniile Panciu company covers all the selection of wines: white, red and rosé, sparkling wine produced by traditional method, sparkling wine and frizzante obtained through fermentation in tanks.
In the retail selection, white, red, rosé, medium dry and sweet wines, obtained from varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Ottonel, Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Regala, Sarba, Babeasca Neagra, Cabernet Sauvignon and Feteasca Neagra can be found under the “Panciu Riserva” and “Casa Panciu” brands.
“Domeniile Panciu” represent the premium selection, brands that promote quality by having a small production and harvesting the grapes at full maturity, only in great years, from selected grapes. These wines are produced in limited editions and can be found in specialized stores and HoReCa.
The sparkling wine selection is continuously developing: Domeniile Panciu sparkling wine brut is obtained through Champenoise method, and Casa Panciu and Panciu Riserva sparkling wine, white or rose, medium dry or sweet wines are obtained through fermentation in tanks, by Charmat or Asti methods. In 2017 the Domeniile Panciu sparkling wine selection is completed by other 5 new types of classic sparkling wines carefully matured for at least 18 months. Sparkling wine amateurs will be able to enjoy Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, Cuvee Prestige, rosé and a limited edition of classic red sparkling wine.
Last but not least, we have thought about wine enthusiasts and for them we are currently building right in the middle of the plantation a touristic complex which will have a 4-star hotel with 30 rooms, a SPA center, a restaurant with tasting rooms. There, in a spectacular setting offered by Vrancea foothills, you can come and visit the winery, attend the bottling of the wines, but also taste our products.
