Cramele Recaș expands into Vrancea region and partners with Tenuta Odobești for sparkling wines

Cramele Recaș, Romania's wine market leader and top wine exporter, has teamed up with Tenuta Odobești, a Vrancea-based producer of bottled and bulk wines and must. This strategic partnership aims to meet the increasing demand for sparkling wines in Romania by introducing new traditional method sparkling wines to Cramele Recaș's national distribution network.

This partnership will expand Cramele Recaș's portfolio with new sparkling wines made using the traditional method, which will be sold nationally through their own distribution network. This move addresses the growing demand from Romanian customers for sparkling wines, combining the expertise and tradition of the two producers from Banat and Vrancea.

"This decision comes from the necessity to constantly increase our production, considering that there are no more available areas in our region to be cultivated with vines. We believe this strategic step represents a good opportunity to combine our expertise and history in creating quality wines with the passion and tradition that Tenuta Odobești, under the leadership of Fabrizio Mosconi, dedicates to the entire winemaking process," stated representatives of Cramele Recaș.

The team working on this project includes winemaker Marco Zizioli (a member of the Technical-Scientific Committee of the Franciacorta Consortium - Italy), who will ensure the vinification of exceptional sparkling wines, and the contribution of Cramele Recaș will be brought through the coordination of the vinification process of still wines by Elena Alejos (winemaker-consultant for wine producers in the Malborough - New Zealand and Jerez - Spain regions, with 22 years of experience, including 4 at Cramele Recaș) and Matteo Lappi (winemaker-consultant for wine producers in Italy, with 4 years of experience at Cramele Recaș).

"From the first year, we plan to allocate a significant part of our investment budget to developing the winemaking and bottling processes at this winery, to complete our internal and external product portfolio with new wine varieties. We are confident that through continuous collaboration and expertise exchange, we will succeed in launching new products on the market that meet the taste requirements of wine consumers in Romania and abroad," added representatives of Cramele Recaș.
