Romanian rosé wines stood out at the 2026 edition of the CMB Rosé Wine Session, held between March 27-29 in Calabria (Italy), winning 17 medals out of a total of 51 entries. With a success rate of approximately 33%, the results confirm the steady rise in quality of Romanian rosé wines in an increasingly competitive international landscape.
The event brought together over 55 international tasters from 20 countries, who evaluated more than 1,100 rosé wines from 30 nations in blind tastings. This dedicated rosé session is widely recognized as a key benchmark for identifying global trends and stylistic diversity in rosé wine production.
Over the course of three days, a jury composed of wine professionals, sommeliers, importers, distributors, and specialized journalists, assessed the wines under strict blind tasting conditions. Romania further strengthened its position on the international stage, earning a total of 17 distinctions: one Grand Gold Medal, six Gold Medals, and ten Silver Medals.
The most important recognition for Romania was awarded to Issa Pinot Noir Rosé 2025 from Crama La Salina, named “Romania’s Rosé Revelation”—a distinction that highlights both the wine’s quality and the growing potential of the country’s rosé category.
